Poem in Really System

Really System is a kick-ass journal that published me a while back, and I'm happy to be in their most recent issue again with a new poem called "Hunt Mother." This one's part of a series of remix poems I created using old issues of National Geographic Little Kids Magazine. Hoping to publish more from this group soon! In the meantime, you can read "Hunt Mother" here.

Poets Resist Guest Editor

This fabulous list of poems is the result of my month-long stint as Glass Poetry's guest editor for their Poets Resist feature. I was worried I wouldn't get enough submissions, or that I wouldn't get work from more underrepresented writers, but the diversity and quality of the work I received blew me away. This is probably the most fun I've had as an editor, at least in a very long time. You can read these poems here.

Poems In FIVE:2:ONE Magazine

You can finally read some of my remix poems from last year's THE POEMING project, thanks to FIVE:2:ONE. I had a lot of fun writing these zombie/journalism/politics poems, using Mira Grant's novel, FEED, as a source text.

Check out my weird remix babies here, and super thanks to Nathan Alan Schwartz and staff at F2O for my first pub of 2019!

This week, PLAYING ONE ON TV was featured by Sundress on The Wardrobe's Best Dressed. Much excite! Head over to their blog to read some poems from my chapbook, and if you like those and fancy some more, order the book here.

Super big thanks to curator Kelly Lorraine Andrews, Sundress, and my publisher, Hyacinth Girl Press, for this honor. :)

Happy Birthday To PLAYING ONE ON TV

Today marks the official release of my new chapbook, PLAYING ONE ON TV!

I had a lot of fun writing these poems, during a NaPoWriMo 30/30, several years ago. Stuck with no inspiration, I decided to write poems to/about various female TV characters I'd grown up watching. When I pulled them back out in 2016, I saw so many similar themes running through them - girlhood, feminism, the whiteness of pop culture, womanhood - that turning them into a book seemed like a natural next step.

Whether you're a fan of Doug, Saved By the Bell, Dawson's Creek, Friends, or non-nineties shows like Gilmore Girls and Archer, I think there's something for everyone packed into this book. I extend endless gratitude to Margaret Bashaar and Sarah Reck for turning my work into such a rad-looking book. Hyacinth Girl Press has been taking all my money for years now, and I'm so proud to now have a book in their catalog.

Poem In BOAAT Journal

There's really no other way to say it, it is a real dream come true for me to have a poem in the new issue of BOAAT Journal, a mag I've been reading since its inception. You can now read "In the Aftermath of A Natural Disaster" in the March/April issue, and check out the other fabulous work there, too. Huge thanks to sam sax, Sean Shearer, and the whole BOAAT staff for the awesome work they do.
