New Work Summer Wrap-Up

 As summer comes to an end, I thought I'd share some publications from the past few months.

One of my favorite journals online, Yes, Poetry published three poems in June that you can read here. 

Also in June, I was thrilled to learn my poem, "I make you and disappear," was poem of the day at SWWIM.

Finally, one of my Flowers In the Attic found poems was published in the newest issue of Thimble. You can read it here.

New Poem in Whale Road Review

This month brought the publication of a prose poem I wrote last summer, which seems like a lifetime ago. I'm excited to share "Perdido Key, Florida, July 2019", which you can read in Issue 19 of the wonderful Whale Road Review. Super thanks to Katie Manning, who is one of the best editors around, for giving this piece a home.

There is a "tip the writer" link under my poem, and I'll be donating any tips I receive to The Okra Project.

New Poem and New Essay!

I have some New Shiny Publications to share! First up is my poem, "Still Here," in QUARANZINE: Art in Isolation. This is a very cool zine featuring work from marginalized artists about These Trying Times. Many of them have included their payment app handles, in case you want to throw a couple bucks their way. The poem maybe makes this obvious, but I wrote "Still Here" because I was sick of hearing Corona takes on Love In the Time of Cholera. Click here to go to the digital flipbook.

Those who know me well have probably had to sit through my dissertation on the best episode of Saved By the Bell, featuring my OTP, Zack Morris and Lisa Turtle. If you haven't had that pleasure, I wrote about it for Drunk Monkeys, which you can read here.

I have a handful of poems about the Saved By the Bell girls in my chapbook, PLAYING ONE ON TV, including two about Lisa Turtle. You can purchase a copy from Hyacinth Girl Press.

New Gig At Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review

Excited to share that I've taken an Assistant Editor position at Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review. This is a great Texas-based journal that gives voice to folks writing from marginalized perspectives, and I'm thrilled to be on board and help further its goals. Can't wait to get to work on their next issue!

Poetry Month, AKA I Did It All For Jeff Goldblum

Greetings from this stay-at-home everything! I thought I'd update here and share what writing I'm up to, in between all the homeschooling, housework, working, and editing side gigs.

I'm co-admin and participant in a special Poetry Month edition of THE POEMING, where a bunch of poets are writing found poems from the novel JURASSIC PARK. It kicked off last week, and I've been sharing poets' contributions over on the main blog. If you want to follow along with my progress, I'll be uploading my daily poems to this tumblr. Check it out! It's interesting to tackle this story about a man-made disaster at this moment in time.

I also started a Tiny Letter, which I've been wanting to do for months. I'd love if you subscribed below and gave me attention. 😜
