More Poems In Quail Bell Magazine

The rest of my Quail Bell feature is live, with a few more poems from the upcoming PLAYING ONE ON TV. Check out "Joey Potter's Creek," "Every Girl I Know Is Angelica Pickles," and "All of It Explains It All," about Clarissa Darling and her platonic friendship I'll forever be jealous of. I love getting these poems out there and can't wait for the book to come out, later this year!

Poems in Quail Bell Magazine

The super-cool Quail Bell Magazine has been publishing some poems from my upcoming pop culture, feminist chapbook, PLAYING ONE ON TV, so I'll be sharing them here in the coming weeks.

Today, feast your eyes and brains on two (TWO) poems about Lisa Turtle, called "Lisa Turtle's Fashion Show" and "Lisa Turtle Comes Out of Her Shell." I've always felt Lisa got the short stick on Saved By the Bell - she rarely had any lead story lines and certainly no big romance arcs. This is problematic, considering she's the only woman of color on the show, which is something I obviously didn't think too much about when watching it as a kid. Now, however, it's become something I can't stop thinking and writing about. Damn feminist enlightenment.

Gigantic Sequins 8.1

The new issue of Gigantic Sequins is alive and in the world and packed with more good lit than ever. This remains one of my favorite print journals to read and to read for, and I'm excited about the nonfiction we chose, this time around. Purchase this issue and/or past issues here!
